Experience chocolate as the potent and nutrient dense food that it was meant to be.

After many years tinkering in the kitchen with cacao and other superfoods, I have figured out how to eat chocolate for breakfast and it be good for me (and my husband who eats most of it)!

I consider it an art form and a blessing to work with cacao, a delicious and nutrient dense food. I am grateful for the immense local support for my mission to revive chocolate's reputation and expand it to include the health-FULL food and spirit medicine that it naturally is.

I import cacao directly from Colombia with some help from mi mama and mi primo (cousin). We are supporting small scale chemical free farming. Growing cacao is a viable business, and as such, some illegal coca farms are converting to growing cacao instead! I intentionally leave the value added work of hulling, roasting and grinding in Colombia (this is not bean to bar.) I do this on purpose because I feel strongly about maintaining the value added work opportunities in Colombia where the cacao grows.

When you purchase from Forest Moon Chocolates you are supporting an intentional way of international commerce.

Cacao is an exotic treat with a beautiful natural buzz, may it fuel you in living your life in it's truest expression.

Found at our farmstand on Salt Spring Island, I stock the shelves Thursday with a selection of lightly sweetened treats and unsweetened breakfast bars, coconut cacao bliss bites and more.
